I actually made this egg nog over the holidays and gave it out as a gift. I put it in Mason jars with a ribbon tied around it and it was a hit! The recipe is not too sweet or strong with the bourbon (of course, you can adjust to your preferance). I also did not have a standing mixer but I used a hand mixer along with lots of arm work and it turned out great. I highly reccomend if your ever in need of a good egg nog recipe.
