
The sights, smells and flavors of the world have always interested Miguel Blasini, executive chef at the Ocean Key Resort in Key West. Miguel was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico…he developed a passion for food and by age 14, was working in a small Italian restaurant in the Bronx, New York. In 1995, Wolfgang Puck asked Miguel to be his chef de partie in Orlando, Florida. Wolfgang's University, "The Block" provided a fertile training ground-Miguel moved up the ladder quickly, becoming sous chef and corporate trainer for the acclaimed restaurant. After nine years with the Wolgang Puck operation, Miguel stepped out on his own as a consultant and later designed award-winning menus based on specific cultural concepts. All the while he was honing his skills as a Latin/Asian fusion chef and traveling the world to experience other cultures and cuisines.
His unique ideas and flavors would ultimately show up in restaurants around the world, establishing him as an exceptional international chef! Now happily ensconced on the isle of Key West and enjoying the Gulf of Mexico, Miguel is once again reinventing himself and his art.
